FAQs

Q. How can I clean my jewelry at home?
A. Come in and purchase our jewelry cleaner and polishing cloth.  We have a special cleaner for silver. Use the cleaner on a weekly basis.  Never use a cleaning solution on pearls and opals.  If you are unsure bring it in and we will be happy to clean it for you.

Q.  How often should my jewelry be cleaned?
A.  Bring your jewelry in every month for a free cleaning and inspection.   Worn tips and broken prongs are hard to see with the naked eye.  Preventative maintenance will avoid loss of stones.

Q.  How often should I have an appraisal done on my jewelry?
A.  Normally regular appraisals are every 3 years. Due to the present erratic market you should have it appraised every 12-18 months.  Insurance requirements vary. Check with your agent.

Q.  What's the lifetime of my watch battery?
A.   Usually a battery lasts one year.  It depends on the age of the watch. The older the watch the more energy it takes for it to work.

Q.  What kind of watches do you repair?
A.  All brands of watches including Citizen, Tag, Omega, Fossil, and Rolex.  Our onsite repairman is Rolex Authorized Repair certified. If necessary we can send the watch to the manufacturer.

Q.  Do you do engraving? How much does it cost?
A.  We engrave on all metals, wood, glass and some plastic.  We engrave the first15 letters for $23 and $1 for each letter over 15.
